I am Mark and have just aquired Lady Mable, my first ever Jaguar.
Lady Mable is a Sable Daimler XJ6 and she is a glamourous 50yo dame.
Lady Mable
She didn't like to stand out too much, so at some stage took off some of her jewelry.
I honestly prefer the Jaguar grill to the Daimler fluted grill, but am a little puzzled as to why Sir William thought that black vinyl was more classy than lovely wood on the door trims.
I am slowly learning the differences between Daimler and Jaguar, as we enjoy our honeymoon period.
I have discovered this forum whilst searching for a solution to Lady Mable's sunroof issue.
I am sure that I will find a solution and will keep you posted.
Hello, Mark,
Congratulations on your First Jaguar (Daimler)!
What a Lovely Series 1 is Lady Marble.
I don't normally like Earth Tones but that one is Very nice.
Thank you, Elinor. It is a pleasure to be a part of the forum.
I see that you have a modern ScoobyDo ute (pick up).
I have just done some work on a 1988 Brumby or BRAT, as you guy know them, to get her back on the road after a ten year spell as a farm vehicle.
Rats nest in plenum chamber has left a bit of a pong. lol
I can see you've already found your way to the XJ6 & XJ12 Series I, II & III forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the Australia - New South Wales / ACT Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/a...-wales-act-93/ to find other members in your region.
Welcome to the forums Mark.
Good luck with the sunroof, I ended up sealing mine closed.
I spent an evening on the lounge reading your thread, in the hope of learning the secrets of the unobtanium sunroof.
Such a shame that you put in so much effort only to be thwarted by lack of parts.
Thanks for the welcome and I will be sure to keep everyone updated
Welcome aboard Mark….I’ve just added you to the NSW Roll, just follow the link below. After this lockdown madness we should get together for a run.
That would be superb. I look forward to meeting everyone and dribbling about cars.
I'm unsure how long it will take me to get Lady Mable registered, as she has a little work to be done, but as soon as possible we will be cruising. 8-)
