Default Hello from hastings

Hi. I'm Ash, an s type owner and jaguar enthusiast. However, this is my first jaguar and I have a problem!
She's an 03 v6 2.5 petrol. After a long term coolant loss problem culminating in the head gasket giving up, I had a complete engine rebuild (and new radiator fitted)carried out in December last year. A week after a got it back, the water pump inlet hose went. I replaced it. The car then had a 500 mile service, two weeks ago. On Friday, the water pump inlet hose, that I've just renewed, failed catastrophically! With a 2.5cm split.
I suspect the engine is pressurising and have ordered a replacement expansion tank cap for a start but, any further ideas anyone?

Welcome to the forum Ash,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

I'd agree it's over pressuring. Providing the head gasket was done properly and there was no head/block face damage then it's possibly a sticking thermostat or failed water pump.

I can see you've already found your way to the S-Type forum so there's no need for a link to it from me.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the UK & Eire Region forum by following this link UK & Eire - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.
