Hello-Hello! (but not Bono from U2)
Greetings.
Based in Washington State (US).
33 y.o. male
Prior vehicle: 1994 Volvo 850 Turbo.
Current: 2001 XJR (4.0 V8 S/C)
I've owned my XJR since early 2020. Acquired w/ 35k-40k miles (paid $5000 USD, in installments). Genuinely seemed to be a 'Sunday car' for the previous owner. Very few complaints on first purchase.
Currently, this Cat is my only vehicle and would therefor consider it to be my 'daily driver'.
[Background/Lore-dump: As a young'n my best-friend's dad had a silver XJ6 with ~5k miles. I became enamored with Jaguar's style from this era.]
Personally, I really like the X308 - They still have the older styling but updated just enough.
I love my XJR. I've paid a fair share of shop bills for various tasks I didn't want to DIY, as well as my own blood/sweat/tears. I can still safely say I appreciate this vehicle just as much now, as I did when I first purchased it (if not more-so).
1st off - My sincere thanks to these forums & this community! You all have helped me save so much $$$ since becoming a Jag owner. Not to mention simple maintenance/diagnostics.
2nd - I figured it was time to become a member after a recent brilliant decision to undergo upgrading my Cat's S/C upper-pulley. Figure sharing my personal XP may be some help to others considering the upgrade.
Last - (Considering the car brand we all choose to own, here) I have a hunch I have more specific maintenance / diagnostic questions in the near future!
One day, I can hope to provide as much assistance to this community's members, as they have provided for me over the years.
FYI - Pics to follow. She's in need of a wash.
Cheers
