Hello from Oregon!
Hi everybody!
I am obviously new here.
I have been reading this forum for the past several years.
I have been reading, learning, and patiently searching for my first Jaguar.
I took me almost four years of searching to find my dream car.
On August 10th, I bought her, a 2001 XJR.
I wanted Platinum Silver with AGD / Oatmeal interior and Asteroid wheels.
The car needed to have a clean Carfax & history.
Most of all, she needed to be in as close to mint condition as I could find in my neck of the woods.
My car just hit 72K miles and is immaculate.
Even though the car looks great, she had the usual Jaguar problems.
Over the last three weeks, I have corrected the following flaws:
1) replaced the Ash Tray assembly.
2) replaced the Cup Holder assembly.
3) replaced a broken C-Pillar reading lamp.
4) replaced the JAGUAR trunk badge that was chipped.
5) added a new burl wood shift knob that has the "R" logo on it.
6) removed the center console insert that had the Motorola phone adapter.
7) purchased a replacement deep center console bin.
8) bought a used third brake light assembly, refinished it, & installed it.
9) bought some "R" badges that have yet to arrive in the mail.
10) bought a pair of keyless entry remotes and programmed them.
On the immediate "To Do" list:
1) Tires and alignment
2) Change EVERY fluid on the car.
3) Inspect timing chain tensioners and probably upgrade to metal units.
4) Tint the windows.
5) Install a Motorola T-605 bluetooth kit.
6) Mina or Borla Exhaust.
7) 10# upper supercharger pulley.
8) Install a compatible Homelink receiver on my GDO so I can use the Homelink in the car.
9) replace the headliner, which is starting to sag.
Down the road "to do" list:
1) lower supercharger pulley.
2) upgraded water pump.
3) upgraded intercooler.
4) Methanol water injection (Snow Performance).
5) MAYBE a shot of nitrous for when the mood suits
Anyway, I just wanted to say "Hi!" and most of all "Thanks!" for all of the great information on this forum!
For as long as I can remember, I have wanted a Jaguar. I used to call them "Jag-WIRES" when I was a little kid.
I am now 48 years old, and I FINALLY have my dream car!
This forum helped me A LOT in my decision making.
Thanks everybody!

Thanks guys!
I didn't know if I was going to have a 1995-97 or a 2001-2003 XJR.
I was open to all of those years.
Guess I could have registered sooner, but I really didn't expect my wife to say "yes" to this purchase.
Life gets crazy sometimes, and the dream car usually gets a low priority on the needs list.
Nice to be here!
