Default Help me please X type drama

Hi guys and ladies.

I need some help I have 2002 2.1v6 X type.

I had to replace the right front abs sensor as I had the codes read from jaguar.

anyway that was a week ago now for some reason there is a loud sqweeling noise coming from the right front wheel when I drive about 10 KS and a score ring around the disk like something is stuck in there.

weird thing is that the abs light is coming back on again but when the wheel sqweels the abs light doesn't come on but the brakes vibrate but when the abs light does come on the sqweel noise isn't there.

does anyone have any ideas?

thanks.

Best to remove the road wheel and inspect the work that was done to see if it was performed correctly.

Welcome.

Not good, so time for closer inspection, and self sorting.

Good luck.

Don't forget braking generates a lot of heat and as caliper housings/pistons heat up they expand. If something is going to stick, it's more likely to stick when it's hot.

It's not unusual to feel pulsing through the brake pedal when braking hard. This is the ABS working to prevent lockup. However, excessive vibration on one wheel only could be symptoms of a worn hub bearing.

UPDATE.

the noise was indeed a loose brake pad so thanks for that.

the abs sensor problem is still there I less the brake and it vibrates then the abs light is coming on that obviously makes my cruise control not work.

do you think this is a faulty abs pump?

thanks.

It could well be a fault with the ABS module. Have a look at the ABS/Traction Control section in this FAQ thread:

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...ts-data-29800/

There's links to threads with details on troubleshooting and repairing.
