I have a Jaguar XF (2008) which is a joy to drive but has been plagued with a series of error messages :

The two worst suggested a loss of power and /or handbrake not available and often coincided with extremely wet weather but ,switching off the engine sometimes cleared the fault although this was difficult when motorway driving ; the garage (not Jaguar) diagnosed faulty EGR ?valves and this seemed to clear the problem but recently (again in wet weather)loss of footbrake error has reappeared.
To compound my frustration the rear reversing warning sound comes on when there is nothing behind and stays on until drive is engaged.I understand that these problems exist only in early XF s??

Any suggestions to cure the problems would be greatly appreciated

I suggest a quickie repost in the XF section, where I am sure the answers will be.
