I just put in a new jaguar J gate shifter only to find it will not shift from drive to manual.transmission is,stuck in 4th does go into reverse and nuetral but have to rev to 2000 to get it to jump into drive could this be a valve body or A Drum problem? the car was bought 3 months ago with 26 codes 'All codes are cleared except one gear box fault . I am aware of how thats being produced but can soneone help me with the shifting issues?

Thanks for the warm welcome it was unexspected. I am a huge car car , very passionet about cars. This Jaguar is my newest baby after clearing codes and working on car for two months she has finally came to life. please someone help me with this trans, shifting issue. New jgate will not allow from Drive to manual side it will with top off so im sure its a adjustment needing made. Trans im worried due to having to rev to 2000 rpms it is a valve body issue,shift cylinoid or a A drum problem. I think? I have delt with patiantly working thru all 26 codes 1 remainning which can be cleared but when thrown in drive after reving to.2000 rpms come on gear box fault (exspected). i am very causious of my next move .Due i now pull tranny. I have only spent a total of 100 dollars to clear and fix all codes. For example resricted flow code= cut cat convertors both completely solid top to bottom beating with no damage for 3 days completely clear clearing code. So yes im will to work for any productive result for my car I love the car, she speak for herself.
