Default New F-Type SVR Owner (Philadelphia Area)

Hello, JagForums!

After much searching, I finally found my Jag - a 2018 F-Type SVR in Ultra Blue Metallic! I have always been a car enthusiast, and have owned several Mustangs over the years, along with a 1969 Camaro. A few years ago, I switched to an Audi TTS. Although it was a great car and fun to drive, I missed that V8 sound!

The car should be shipped this week, and with so much closed due to Coronavirus, I am really looking forward to getting it and going for a drive! I have attached a few photos for you to see. It had a bright red wrap and Vossen wheels, but both are being removed to take it back to stock. It also has a bright red interior. I'm honestly not sure that I'm entirely sold on the color combination yet, but the interior itself is beautiful, and with as rare as these cars are, I'm wondering if there are any others out there like this. More to come on that later!

Looking forward to meeting you! Many of you have already been helpful to me throughout my search!

- Chantal

As I found it (wrapped).

Returning to its original Ultra Blue Metallic...

Almost done!

Red Interior!

Welcome to the Forums.

The unwrapped is far better.

Good luck.

I completely agree! Didn't want anything to do with that wrap, so I asked that it be removed prior to delivery. Good thing I did, as it took over a day to get it off! They had wrapped the door jambs, everything!

Welcome to the forums Chantal,

That was a remarkable colour combination. I definitely prefer the blue!

I can see you've already found your way to the F-Type forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. You can also use the US Northeast Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-northeast-35/ to find other members in your region.

Please add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Good onya Chantal!
I'm a pedantic SOB and I appreciate someone who gets it right re "door jambs", as hardly anyone else ever does.

Congratulations, great looking car. I like blue paint more, but with red interior I see why someone would wrap it red.

Some suggestions/warning from a fellow F-type owner.

1. Get rid of OEM P-zero tires right away, they are junk. Michelin Pilot 4S will transform how car handles.
2. Dealers known to overfill these cars (AWD) due to lower oil pan capacity than older RWD cars. You need to check your oil level with a digital dip stick after each service.
3. F-type for some strange reason would not warn you about low oil condition. You need to check your oil level with a digital dip stick frequently.
4. These cars are very sensitive to oil quality, you need to change engine oil more often than recommended by maintenance schedule.
