Default New Guy, Philadelphia

Hi, I'm a Brit Bike/car enthusiast, mediocre mechanic, even less impressive machinist, and I have a fascination for anything unusual with wheels.
After 30 years in Philadelphia, my wife and I are planning to move to the suburbs in retirement where I can finally have a proper garage. This will give me room for the car I really want: a driveable, decent-looking, open headlight, 6-cylinder, fixed head coupe (not a 2+2). I like to drive and I don't care much about originality but I don't want anything with a non-jaguar engine. Mismatched numbers, electronic ignition, upgraded charging, etc. is fine. I'm pretty flexible but I don't want a big project. Yes, I'm aware that even the best ones are projects, but I won't buy anything I can't drive 20 miles the day I buy it.

Welcome to the forums allenhanford,

There's a lot of competition for that particular 'wanted' list.

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/e-type-xk-e-59/ to the E-Type forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the US Northeast Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-northeast-35/ to find other members in your region.

Please read the guidance for new members ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ned-up-241802/ ) which answers many of the most frequent questions about getting started.

Enjoy the forums and the search for your Jaguar.

Graham

I didn't think it was going to be free. What I found surprising was how many 2+2s are around. Unfortunately there are non-jaguar cars I'd prefer over a 2+2.

Hello, Allen,
You might as well be Specific on your list, you'll have a better chance of getting at least part of it.
Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
