Default New Here. Looking for some things and info

Hello. I am new here and honestly don't know much about jags. So any help would be great. I am looking for a rear driver side caliper bracket for a '79 jaguar rear end. Not sure of the exact model name. I believe this caliper and set up is used in many models across a fair span of years but would love this confirmed. The rear end has the twin shocks on each side with the brakes toward the center.

I hope to get some info on this and actually being able to get one of the brackets would be amazing!!!
Thanks in advance.

Go to the forum for your year and model and start a new thread there. You'll get help better that way.

TatTooL23,

Welcome to the Jaguar Forums!

Follow Rob's advice about posting your question in the correct forum for your year and model, and it's also helpful to use your Control Panel to add that info to your signature so others don't have to guess what type of car you're asking questions about.

Cheers,

Don

Welcome to the forum TatTooL23,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

1979 was a model changeover year so you could have either an XJ6 Series II or Series III - or perhaps you are using the Jaguar IRS (Independent Rear Suspension) in another project? The basic design is similar across several model years but there are differences in parts specifications so model and model year in important.

Follow this link XJ6 & XJ12 Series I, II & III - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the XJ6 Series I, II & III forum for help, advice and information.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the US North East Region forum by following this link USA North East - ME NH VT MA RI CT NJ NY PA - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Ok. Everyone has said repeatedly to update my signature or profile with the type of car I have. I stated in the first post I didn't know what it was. I don't have a complete car. I have a 1929 ford model A hot rod that uses a jaguar rear end. I need a caliper bracket for that rear end. So I am trying to identify what rear end it is so I can post in the correct jag model forum about the bracket. I guess I will get some pictures and maybe someone will know based off of that.

What happens is that those of us who do a lot of "greeting" of new members use a stock reply that we've made, then do a copy/paste to save hours of typing.

Since your situation doesn't fall into the normal category, those replies don't always fit.

Pictures, descriptions, years and models will definitely help.
