Hi,
Three months ago I bought a 2001 Jaguar S Type. About 3 weeks ago I found out I had a blown head gasket and we replaced it. Now I am having a misfire issue. It doesn’t misfire consistently, as you drive and get to higher speeds it starts. Spark plugs have been changed but I am waiting for the coil packs to come in.
Reading this forum has been very helpful! I love this car and want to do everything I can to keep it going.

Hello,
I'm sorry your new Jaguar is giving you trouble.
Someone will be along soon to direct you to our very active S-type section where you can get help for that misfire.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Welcome too the forum. You will find a great group of people always willing to help someone out.
For the future you should post your questions with the S-Type section https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...ed-v8-x200-15/.

As you are quickly finding out throwing parts at a Jag will eat a big hole in you wallet. If you haven't already done so get the codes read and post the numbers. Diagnosing a problem always starts with the codes. If you are having random misfiring not localized to one or 2 cylinders then only the codes and STFT (short term fuel trim) and LTFT (long term fuel trims) will help sort out the problem. You may find it doesn't have anything to do with the coils and they might be working just fine.

Welcome to the forum rosebud,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

Time to get a code reader on it to see what could be causing the misfire.

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...ed-v8-x200-15/ to the S-Type forum for help, advice and information.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You haven't given a Location so I can't give you a link to the relevant Region forum
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham
