New Member - 1992 Jaguar XJS
Good day everyone,
My name is Stephen and I'm an officer in the Royal Canadian Navy that also happens to be passionate about working on classic cars as a hobby. That isn't to say that I'm an expert by any means; however, I do own a lift and a reasonable amount of tools that have all come in handy for my previous work on a 1979 Lincoln Mark V (Bill Blass Edition). Which is a drastically different type of car than the Jaguar XJS (I know). I've owned Jaguars of various types since 2007 when I pushed my first XJ which was subsequently followed by an XK, XJL, and then another XK. Although I have moved to Mercedes or Audi for daily drivers, I'm happy to have two Jaguars in my collection. The first is a 2007 XK and the second is a 1992 Jaguar XJS that needs some TLC.
I purchased the 1992 Jaguar XJS several months ago from the second owner and...yes...it wasn't running at the time and had been sitting for years. Although the owner said they frequently started it up, I had my doubts...but was extremely happy to slip in a new fuel relay, change some fluids, and have the car start up immediately without any dashboard lights. The only challenge I immediately noted with the car was that the front sub-assembly was rotten and so started my journey (which is still ongoing) of replacing the sub-assembly and tackling a bunch of "while you are in there" jobs. Candidly, I never want to deal with motor mounds again
.
I live in Ontario Canada with my family and have two teens that love helping out on the XJS...though I suspect they are trying to "help" in order to lay a claim on driving it.
I think that's it for now. Looking forward to being part of this forum and contributing where possible.

Welcome Sir, sounds like a worthwhile ambition, and as long as they have the "Thought" that they might get to drive it you should have an abundance of help. You don't actually ever have to tell them, it ain't happening. LOL!
Good Luck with the project, tons of info and great, honest, and helpful people, Here so enjoy.
