Hi all, my name ia Gadde and I have a 2013 Jaguar XF, I’ve had the car for about a ml th and a half. Check engine light appeared first day but went off. I then notified the dealership in which they sent me over the inspection sheet via email after some dodgy back forth. I did purchase an extended bumper to bumper warranty.

The issue i’m having is on startup sometimes it rattles when starting and a few times it wouldn’t turn over until after a few tries. I’ve taken it in to a certified mechanic for a diagnostic in which I’m not sure how much of a diagnostic can be done in 2 hours because he found no apparent issues but I did have them service me another oil change. He advised me that he read a variable timer code for my check engine light. Not sure what that is. If anyone is familiar with what I’m describing please feel free to send a reply. Thanks!

Hello, Gadde,
First thing I would do is take the car back to the dealer and make him do the warranty work you have already paid for. That's what Extended Warranties are after all. If they absolutely will not make the car right to your satisfaction, most states have some form of Lemon Law to protect consumers from such things. You might want to look into that where you live.
I hope it all works out for you.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

I've moved your other thread from X308 forum to X250 forum and changed the thread title. Here's the link to it:

If you have warranty - use it to get this issue investigated.
