Hi, I just joined the forum. I'm hoping that someone can shed some light on a problem I have been having with our 2000 S-type 4.0. We also have a 1995 XJ6 that has an issue.
I'm a service tech by trade. 30 plus years working on automated machine systems. CNC and PLC controls. My father was an auto mechanic, so I was exposed to the venomous auto bug many years ago. I'm pretty good at detecting the cause of most problems, but this one has me chasing my tail and I'm not sure I can trust the documents I have purchased.
About our S-type. Found this jag listed on Craigslist. Owner admitted that car had engine problem. I bought the car with the plan to put in a newly rebuilt Jag V8 and I went forward with that plan. Couldn't pass up this deal. The car is red and has a very nice and tasteful ground effects kit on it. He let me take the car with two sets of custom wheels and tires for 2K. He was just frustrated with these problems and needed it gone. Bought the car for my wife and everything was fine for the first 800 miles.
So now I'm looking for a little info and some moral support.

I don't often find it necessary to ask for help this way, so I'm new to navigating my way around this forum.
I'm going to start a new tread to ask (beg) for a little help. Any and all advice will be appreciated.

thanks for the support.
