Smile New member but old time Jag owner!

Hi folks, Just bought a 2004 XK8 Vert! Retired a couple of years ago and needed something to tinker with. Owned over 40 cars in my life which included a few British examples including a ground up resto of a 1949 MGTC, and cosmetic restorations of a 1960 Austin Healey 3000 BT2, 1973 MGB Roadster, and used a 1986 Jag XJ6 as a daily driver for four years. Spent my working career flying starting with DC3s and ended up in the left seat of a Gulfstream 4.

Welcome to the forum Jetjock17,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

I can see you've already found your way to the XK8/XKR tech forum so there's no need for a link to it from me.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Hello,
That's quite a fleet you've owned/driven/flown.
When we met my husband was driving a partially restored 1958 Austin Healey 100-6, with a 289ci Ford, 4-speed stick and street slicks. It was actually the car that I fell for. LOL!! I'd never even heard of them before.

We ran a bit short of cash after we were married though, and he sold it for quite a nice pile of change. (sigh)

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Smile Thanks for the welcome!

Hi Elinor, Nice to meet you as well. We all have had stuff which we wish we still had but, at the time, who knew what was gold and what was trash? My most heartfelt regret was selling my 1964 Fender Stratacaster guitar for $300 to make rent in 1969 after having to choose to make the rent or playing in an unknown band. My wife of 43 years was kind enough to point out an Antique Roadshow where a 1964 Strat was valued at $35,000! Still, at the time, it was worth it to keep us out of the snowbanks! Have a great summer!

Yes, JJ (that's what I used to call the Other Person). I knew someone on another forums (totally not related to cars) who goes by jetjock but I'm assuming that you're not him as you don't recognize me.

The car was Positively Ancient at the time (well beyond Antique), and is not even in existence now.
