Default New member, long time lurker

I just picked up a 2001 XKR Convertible, Regent Grey with Oatmeal and it's my first convertible since buying a new first year Porsche Boxster in 1998

Have owned a 2006 SType R, 2002 XJ and 1999 XKR coupe in past.

Love the forum for DIY projects and am searching now for an extra key as it only had one.

Not much of a poster per se, but if I feel I can contribute will do so.

Probably share the sentiment with many other owners here in that most 1995+ Jags are amazing bang for the buck. Many people are scared off and there are some problems....but nothing more than any other luxury/sport manufacturer.

I now drive a 14k car that is has personality and soul vs. some mind numbing sewing machine toyota/honda.

My neighbors asked me if I got a promotion and I just giggle inside.

For a buyer it's great that they are such good value and as a seller it can sometime be tougher but I really believe in 10-15 years these will be 25-30k cars. Relatively low production #'s, plenty of power and timeless style. I personally think the coupe looks much better but the idea of adding an affordable convertible to my collection was the impetus of my purchase.

Looking forward to sending more time here!

Jason

Welcome Jason,
Congratulations on the new Jag, Isn't it amazing we get to drive a classic British touring car for the price of a good used Kia.

I share those sentiments, Jason.

When I first showed up in my SII everyone thought we had won the Lottery or something. But there is not one single car in that parking lot, even the 'old' ones, that one could buy USED for what we paid for mine.

As for mind numbing, I absolutely agree. No other car has 1/10th the personality of a Jaguar.

Welcome from ElinorB.
