Default New member New to me XJ6

Hi. About a month ago I bought a 1996 xj6 (X300). This is my first jaguar, and I love it. It has problems, but don't we all. I am no stranger to British care having owned a bug eye sprite for over 40 years. It's heavily modified but looks stock. I have been lurking on this forum for a little while and have joined to get the full experience. Question: what does everyone do for exhaust? I have a leak some where which makes it sound like a Kcar with a turbo four on acceleration. There is also a drone at cruise. OF course I have further questions but ask them later to fulfil my jeans post quota. Thank you.

Welcome to the forums Sprite,

Good to have you with us.

As you've already found your way to the X300 forum, there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the US Northeast Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-northeast-35/ to find other members in your region.

Please add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Hello,
I always thought the Bug-Eyed Sprite was one of the Cutest cars ever built! I saw one at a show once, that looked like a happy frog.
Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Default Bug Eye of to be proper Frog Eye

I bought the car in 1974. Restomods started in 1985. Body striped and dipped. All rust removed / fixed. Body deseamed. 1.6 liter 185 horse cross flow Ford installed. High lift can 10:1 pistons, head flowed, twin 40 DCOE webers, dry sump system installed. 5 speed Ford T-9 transmission, fiberglass nose. /.14x6 custom pannasport wheels, 205 60 14 tires. With fiberglass nose and new engine/trans bias now 50/50. car weighs 1200 lbs. Updated suspension. Every thing has been modified, engine, trans, body, suspension, interior. The only thing kinda stock is the windshield. It is a blast to drive, looks stock, and gives porches, and vette's a real surprise at stop lights.

Welcome. I detest exhaust work. I usually take it to "the guy" when I need a hole plugged.
