Default New member saying Hello!

Good evening all,
New to this forum but am trying to embrace new (to me) technology.
Usually a proud owner of a 2008 XFR that when it’s behaving is simply brilliant. Unfortunately it’s occasionally naughty and has the usual electrical gremlins.
Today it’s battery is completely flat after being faultless since last year and having no issues on a 130mile drive on Saturday. 🤷‍♂️

My 1961 is a full restoration project that I’ve foolishly decided to have a go at. Learnt loads, forgot a lot and lost quite a lot of skin off my knuckles. Still enjoying the challenge though and get in the garage when I can.
I’ll post some pictures up of the project when I get chance.

Just by means of an update on the flat battery XFR.
changed the battery and checked the alternator was charging it. Voltmeter revealed 14.65 while the engine was idling so it seems it’s all good.
the problem of the dead battery was probably that I only have a very short drive to work (around 12 mile round trip) with a weekly long run of around 100miles.

Add a CTEK to your Christmas wish list. Modern Jaguars are very sensitive to battery charge/condition.

Thanks for that Graham. I was looking at those over the weekend and they seem to have great reviews.
I take it most people permanently attach them to the battery?
Thanks.

YES to permanent connection but NOT simply direct to the battery. On later models with BMS (Battery Monitoring System - see item 1), direct connection should be to the positive terminal but negative connection should be to the nearby earth (ground) stud.

Depending on the distance to your power socket, extensions called 'comfort connectors' are available if required.
