New member - XJSC
Hi All,
A long time reader, but new member to the forums and this is my first post. I am just starting restoring a 1986 XJSC v12.
I got the car about 4 years ago but had to garage it until now – someone at work noticed that my daily driver at the time was a 2001 X-type 3.0 manual and (rightly) assumed I have poor impulse control when it comes to cars and asked if I was interested in a part restored XJSC, which I took unseen.
At the time I was living in a flat with nowhere to work on the car, so parked it up in a relative’s garage and just checked in now and again. Time flies and now relative’s house is being sold and I have a garage, so what better time to get the XJSC up and running (I hope).
The car is a bit of a mystery – I think it was almost fully restored around 1995 to 2000, but was not finished or put back on the road (I think because of a bereavement). It was MOT’d in 2002, but only to change a number plate, and driven for an inspection in around 2009. All of the metal work seems good, and I've got the records of the restoration, but the car hasn’t run since at least 2009.
So, time to get on with it I think – so far I’ve read a lot of the forum and have cleaned out the V, but have a growing list of questions!
Thanks,
Richard

Welcome to the forum Richard,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
It sounds like you've already found your way to the XJS forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. Starting a project thread there is the best place to ask questions and post on progress. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.
Please add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
You can also visit the UK & Eire Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/uk-eire-68/ to find other members in your region.
Good Luck with your project and enjoy the forums.
