Default New Owner 2000 XK8 Convertible Normally Aspirated

Hello All,
New member here and owner of a 2000 XK8 w/o SC Convertible. I'm in Northern California and am a car nut at heart. I'm Porsche factory certified but have an affinity to vintage including but not limited to British (TR6, MGA, TR250 in my garage). I've been searching the forum for some assitance with the ever popular P0171 & P0174 codes. So as to abid by the rules I'll do some more looking for existing threads/posts before adding.

Look forward to solving my potential vacuum leaks and helping other with headaches I might have already dealt with.
Cheers,
Jorge

Welcome Jorge, I think you'll have no problem at all conquering the jaguar 4.0 and its steed, the ZF5hp24 transmission. Looks like you got started on an easy one, I won't spoil your search with listing the usual suspects on this one (learning to master the 'advanced search' tools is vital to traversing the older thread content), but if the codes still reside after a repair/modification or two, and the CEL doesn't clear on its own after a few days...I'll be the first to toss out suggestions. Trial by fire my friend!

And of course, enjoy the forums!

Thanks for the welcome! As soon as the rain lets up a bit I'll be back at it.

h20boy I'll spend the time to find out the search capabilitites and hopefully find my answers on older posts. Being new to forums I just need to get used to the structure.

Thanks,
Jorge

Welcome to the forum!

Oh one other thing you need to put your car details in your signature. I am speaking of the Year, Make & Model. Without it you may not get the input you are looking for.

Please take a moment and read the information provided to you explaining the rules. Be patient and enjoy the site.

This might help in you quest of the P0171 & P0174 http://www.gusglikas.com/images/Auto...otos/P0171.pdf

Welcome to the forum Jorge, structure, we have structure? (note to self, must check on this).

Best of luck with your codes, and don't hesitate to ask if you can't find what you need.

The guys will help you along.

Update to the P0171 & P0174 codes. After replacing the vacuum pipe cleared the codes and they came back again. Took a chance and used CRC MAS cleaner on the MAS sensor. So far over 250 miles with no MIL or codes...fingers crossed.

Well the joy didn't last long as my RP and P0174/P0171 came back again. It has been intermitant for some a while happening more frequently when the AC was on. I replaced the spark plugs as part of the secondary timing chain tensioner procedure and cleared the codes. I hoped that new plugs might make a difference but that is not the case. I just received the MAF sensor and will replace mine having read on the forum that the LNE1620CA can be update to the LNE1620CB which is what was shipped. I'll update the post once I run it for a bit. Also, subsequent to new spark plugs etc.. the code is now only P0174 bank 2. Off the the garage.
