My son and I are excited new owners of a 2003 Jaguar XJ8 Sport here in Central Texas. After 19 years, he finally expressed some interest in cars, and these beautiful Jaguars are what caught his eye!
Our XJ8 came with 73,000 miles and a list of minor repairs we're looking forward to tackling together. So far, we've already started: we got a dent pulling kit for some hail damage, and had to drill holes in the wheel wells to release the stuck hood! A new interior latch release is currently on order.
We're looking forward to diving into the forum's knowledge base and YouTube tutorials to work through our to-do list. Glad to be here!
Hello,
Congratulations to you & son on your new Jaguar XJ8! And it's BLACK!! My Favorite!
73,000 miles is just now well broken in and loosened up. With proper care and feeding there should be At LEAST another 100k of good fun in this car.
Good job getting that hood released. It's always better when you start with a small victory like that.
If you haven't already found your way there, someone will be along soon to direct you to the correct section where you can find all the help you need/want or just hang out with other owners,
Welcome aboard. The Triumph Clubs are pretty active in Texas. The Hill Country club down there throws a pretty nice British car show each October near Marble Falls and the one up here does a really good one in Fort Worth a week or two before. And there's a really nice one each May at White Rock Lake in Dallas. I started participating in car shows while in college back in the 80s after restoring a 66 Mustang but when you are that young and win a ribbon or trophy at something I guess it makes an impression (especially after being lousy at sports, mediocre at spelling and having no musical talent whatsoever ). Next year's dates will be posted by March probably.
If you haven't done so already you should add your car details to your signature to help others to help you.

Nice looking car. I'm about the same distance from Austin in the other direction. The local Jaguar club is some very nice folks. I have an '04 XJ8. Welcome to the forum.
