Newbie Hi
Hi All,
I'm Ian (57) and after many years running and restoring Classic Triumphs I've recently purchased a 2006 XK Convertible. Love the car but it has a few minor issues I need to get ironed out so will you see me on the forum asking daft questions from time to time, so please be kind.
Previous car was a 2003 Porsche Boxster S which I absolutely loved for the perfect balance and performance but now I'm getting on a bit need something that doesn't shatter my spine every time I hit a badly surfaced piece of road.
Initially the XK was constantly borderline overheating but that was soon sorted as the thermostat housing had fallen to pieces, now running great, fortunately I bought it with a warranty so the new housing and a slow window regulator was sorted by the garage.
Main cause for concern is the steering which is ok if not a bit over assisted for my taste but its a little vague, I love the ride but would like a little more feel when pressing on, the car is fitted with CATS but I can't say I notice any difference in the twisty stuff maybe it's not working. Is there any way of testing it?
The other issue is both front door windows have huge scratches in them, there must have been some grit in the window seal and they are in a horrible state. Is the glass specific to the convertible or does the coupe glass fit?
Anyway thanks in advance and hopefully see you on the forum.
Regards
Ian

Welcome to the forums Ian,
I would have put money on the door glasses being different on Coupe and Convertible ........ but on checking the Parts Catalogue, I'd have lost!
