Newbie intro
I need to front sub frame place to replace control arm--all is rusted. But I can find a used one. Whatother year xj jags can i swap with? or what else can I do
Its great to be here. My mom passed and left me with a 1990 XJ6 soveriegn. She loved this car. I let the car sit a few yearsuntil I recently totaled my car. Now I want to get it up to par to drive.
Im afraid that I may not be able to do so now. The front sub frame has rusted terribly and I cant find a replacement to repair the control arm. Nothing else is wrong with the car.
Thanks for welcoming me. Hopefully I can find a solution and hold on to moms car. It means alot to me.
Thanks Guys

Hello,
Yes, the Rust Worm eats these old cars for Breakfast if they aren't cared for properly!
Parts for them are available from several companies specializing in Jaguars. The Xj-40 section will be able to tell you which ones. Someone will be along shortly to direct you there.

Welcome to the forum mgreene,
(I've merged you two Intro threads)
I thought the identity of your Jaguar had been resolved but the latest post in your Model Question thread makes me wonder if you do have an XJ40. Once we determine the exact model, I'll move your other thread to the relevant forum.

guess I need to find the right forum area to start but I'll figure it all out eventually. This is one of the few forums they actually call the car xj40 which I believe is proper.
thought I knew my car pretty well but obviously I can tell from being on here I'm a newbie in more ways than one I just can't figure where this noise this growling at low speed comes from going to get it on the lift maybe today or hopefully by tomorrow at the latest as I want to start driving it again. I'll get all this figured out and I will come back and tell everyone what it was and what I did to remedy . Thanks so much guys what great information !! Blessings to all.
