Default Old member, but gone for a long time

Hi folks. I've been gone a long time, and am back now that I've finally got some steadier income. Hooray for that. My baby Jag is happy. I drove him this morning to work at long last, stopping off at the body shop as my loving husband whom I've been telling for the past 14 years of our marriage to STOP TAILGATING, hit someone. He'd say the someone had cut him off. I'd say something else, but that's not important right now.

Anyway, my 1997 Jaguar XK8 in British Racing Green was buffed, and we found that the clear coat had gone away in many places due to tree sap and bird droppings (husband kicked the car out of the garage to put in a wood shop and hadn't bothered to put the cover on, said cover being eaten by mice also from neglect and no, I'm not happy about that either.

I will post in the parts area to ask about sourcing a new (or used) bumper, since the body shop quotes 2486.75 for one, and freaking ouch. And of course, that doesn't include labor, or painting it bringing it to a grand total of 3352.53. Redoing the hood and roof header panel, and blending to the fenders will cost 1668.30.

Sigh... just sigh.

Ooblick, I'm so sorry your pet car has been evicted from the garage. I hope you can get it sorted out and drivable now that you have an income again.

I will say Welcome because I didn't know you before.

Welcome from ElinorB,
