Default Purchasing a Jaguar X Type 2005

Hi all,
this the big day for me as I will be the owner of the beautiful Jaguar above. It's an X Type 2005, 2.0 Diesel with only 99k miles! Tried on the road it was easy and steady. The inside is sleek and black with yellowish wood nicely veneered.
It's colour is not the Zircon Blue I was looking for but a Silver Grey, very opalescent as per pic above

It has a Jaguar at the front - is it pretentious? opinions...
This is a dream come true for me as when I came to the UK in 2011, I bought a VW Golf from a car dealer parked right next to a Jaguar X Type champagne coloured. It was love at first sight with Jaguars! 8 years down the line and I'm here posting my first on a Jaguar forum.
Your comments are most welcome.
Have a great evening,
Emmanuel

I will check it with my mechanic to tomorrow. Anything in particular which requires special attention apart from the standard inspections (oil leak, rust...)

Hello, Emmanuel,
Congratulations on your new Jaguar!
What an Upgrade from a Golf! The two cars aren't even in the same Game, let alone the same league, let alone do they have the same target clientele!

You ask about the Leaper (that's what the Jaguar on the hood is called): there are differing opinions. Mine is that such a thing looks like an afterthought and doesn't belong on a sleek-bodied modern car.

They looked like they belonged in the Days of Yore, and in fact they fit the body styling Back In The Day when Everything was sort of hung off the body and tacked on at some convenient place; headlights, running lights, horn for example. But in my opinion, they look, um, out of place on a modern, sculpted body.

However, I do not hold the majority opinion in these forums, although most who disagree with me are men. You are free to glean from that what you will.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
