Default Ride height problems

I just purchased a 90 6XJ 12 North America model I love the car with the front end is bottomed out completely. So much so that the tire treads are inside the fender and making right-hand turns onto even the slightest incline causes the tire to push the fenders out. I had a hell of a time finding new front springs for a V 12 and when they were finally shipped over from Scotland and installed the right height remain the same I need a bit of a panic here because I don't know what else would determine the right height of the vehicle other than the spring these are new springs installed and they are the correct part for the V 12 model so I am told. As it sits at this point the vehicle is undrivable

Welcome to the forum 96xj12,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

Ride height is primarily dependent on compressed road spring lengh. It is then adjusted with Packing Rings.

I can see you've already found your way to the XJ6 & XJ12 Series I, II & III forum so there's no need for a link to it from me.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the US Northeast Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-northeast-35/
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Thank you. I am having difficulty setting up on the moble app. But I intend to set up properly if I get a chance to sit down at a PC whatever that is
As for the car. These are brand new v12 springs and spacers installed and the car is still slammed. It does not seem right it could need anything else to get the front end up.

Welcome.

Your 1996 should be an X300 Series with the 6ltr V12.

Well done on a rare car.

The attached parts drawings show the XJ40 set up, with a front spring kit having a part number of JLM11267.

This one is the X300 set up. With the spring kit having JLM12161 as its part number.

What the actual difference is, NO idea.

Check the Jag number on the sprigs you have been supplied, and maybe there has been a model foul up?????

Your VIN ## will easily identify your car.
