XK8 shock and springs

XK8 shock and springs
Hi all
i was just about to replace my shocks on a 2001 XK8 with standard black Bilstein. On further inspection I realised the existing shocks were the sports green. I haven't seen an electrical cable connected the the top of the front shocks so I assume there's no CATs installed.
Are the green shocks matched with springs or can I switch them out with black ones alone?
Thanks in advance

Welcome to teh Forums.
My understanding, any car related, is shocks vary with internal dampening, softer, through to sports (firmer). OK, Cats etc all make things a tad more specific, but you appear to nt have that system, soa "standard" car for this purpose.
The springs are what keeps the thing OFF the tarmac, at a predetermined height.
The XK8 Tech Section will have more specific answers for you.
Good luck.

Welcome to the forums jonnyauto,
Good to have you with us.
I can see you've already found your way to the XK8/XKR forum with this question so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.
Please add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
You can also visit the UK & Eire Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/uk-eire-68/ to find other members in your region.
Enjoy the forums.
