It is added to the cloud. HOWEVER you will need to do a search in the document to find what you want.

Okay, this is good info! But a little tutorial is needed, for green horns like me reading schematics. For example, I'm trying to identify factory wiring connectors in the trunk right hand side (see photos in another thread). When I look at the schematic for harness in-line connectors, I find only 1 listed on the schematic in that area of the vehicle. It is identified as BR1(10). Now I know there are more than 1 in that area, what am I missing? And, how do I find out what BR1(10) is?

On more detailed schematics, like the one you posted for audio systems, how do you tell where in the car the wire is running? For example, l know the CD changer is in the trunk, but how can I tell that looking at the schematic?

Once I get the hang of it, I'm sure this will be very useful, but right now it is not clear.

Thank You!

so for anyone else that needs some info on how to read it, i will gie you some pointers.

So download the document and turn to page 32. You will see FIG 1.1 at the top. this information is critical to reading the schematic following on the next page. COMPONENT is just that, the part.Look down the COMPONENT till you see ignition switch, then notice the connector number FC18. This is the connector on the schematic, if you scroll to the next page and find FC18. Also of note, the connector description, it is a 7 pin (meaning room for 7 wires) and it is a black connector. Also of note is the location in the vehicle.

Lets use the diagram for FC18 as the test for this lesson. So now scroll to page 33.

You will see connector FC18 on the left hand bottom side, labeled as IGNITION SWITCH.

Look at the wire that goes into the ignition switch, it is labeled FC18-4. the -4 denotes the wire pin number, in FC18 connector.

NOW just because this shows the ignition switch, doesnt mean this is the actual PIN DIAGRAM for it, this is where reading the specific schematic comes into play, it is merely a power distribution schematic. The wires you see on there are main POWER lines. So by reading the schematic PIN-4 and PIN-6 are power lines.

Now if you say, hey i need the exact wiring on the ignition switch, then we need to find the specific schematic for that. Before we o that though, i want you to print pages 14-16. this is going to be your study guide for READING A SCHEMATIC. this is your legend, KNOW IT, TRUST IT, LIVE IT!!!

ignition switch for V6- FIG 2.1

OK NOW FIND THE IGNTION SWITCH FC18 it is labeled as, and also says IGNITION SWITCH, this time top left corner. NOW you will see a line missing that we saw on the other one, thats because that is a MAIN POWER LINE, as that specific schematic called out for. Now we are seeing the same POWER line on the left and the NR on that line denotes the color of the wire. Look at your study charts and match up the color.

Take note of the -# on the right side of the ignition switch schematic, see the different pin #'s? ABove those lines are the colors too, the first letter usually denotes the main color, with the second letter denoting the stripe color on that wire.

Let me know if you need more info

Maybe due to it being google.com whereas I'm google.co.uk but I can't see it. Download appears to fail, too. Is it just the elec diagram PDF from JTIS?

i.e. same as in JTIS or here Jaguar electrical reference ?

i took it directly from jtis, so yes same as the other. I didnt know that was there, what i mainly did it for was just the wiring info for the audio system.

i am also using google chrome as my browser, i dont know if that might be a difference also???

The PDFs are nice and fast from my local hard drive so no worries about them being in the cloud

I thought maybe you'd posted something new.
