"006 S Type Bluetooth
Hi Peter Munton, Dublin, Ireland here.I have just purchased a 2006 S Type 3.0 also a Sony Xperia J mobile phone I can pair them no problem but the address book does not transfer to the car.I had an old phone and I could transfer the address book so I know I am using the correct method. So to my Question, can the bluetooth software be updated, or can an upgrade bluetooth module be purchased
the are a few threads on here about this, from memory (i'm to lazy to search, thats your job) i think it is something to do with the version of bluetooth your phone uses v the type of bt the jag has, latest phones use v3, & v4 i think your phone has v2.1, not sure about the jag but suspect v1.?
This is from memory but a good google should clarify things.

so you get the phone accepted, right? THEN it is important to switch ignition off and leave phone in the car ie connected for at least 6 minutes, the phone auto disconnects after this time. try it?
If a Search on bluetooth didn't get you the answer then you're a pioneer with a problem no-one else has / solved.

Sorry I don't seem to have been very clear I can pair my phone and I can use the phone via the keypad in the car but the phone book does not transfer to he car.
My car is a 2006 S type 3.0 petrol with an upgraded sound system listed in the log book as a luxury model.

Connectivity with newer phones in older Jaguars is becoming more difficult. Even with the fewer phones that can connect, Address Book sync is often unavailable. As an example, my Samsung Galaxy will pair in my 2005 XK8 but the Address Book will not sync.
I think you could be on a loser trying to progress this issue.
