Default 07' STR and no MP3 :( wats up with that.

Guys, is there any way I can just change my 6 CD changer from the trunk to play MP3's. Or would I have to install something else, I hate making new CD's daily with 17 songs per disc, its a waste of CD's lol. Thank you guys

Yet again, I have a iPod which my car doesnt bring the ACM

Look back through old threads and this is often covered.

You're welcome. It'll be a LOT easier if you read what people have so helpfully posted.

I did wonder - but I try to assume the best (don't always succeed).

You REALLY can't have looked properly as there are multiple threads. Probably used Search in a way that didn't work.

Click on Search then pick Advanced Search. At the right choose only the S-Type forum. Choose Posts rather than Threads (not vital). Try Searching on:
ipod

and also try

connectivity

But it's not going to be cheap if you want decent sound.

In short there is no CD option to play mp3's. Best option is the ACM, I've just fitted one to my X350 XJR, it's not hard and if you self install not that expensive, 4gb (max size allowed) usb stick holds 30+ albums, sound quality is first class and it can control your Ipod.

Default Search on audio connectivity module

There's a Jag authored user installation guide that comes with the kit which is a really horrible installation guide. It's more of a tease than anything else. Go to to the Dension website as they make the ACM for Jaguar. They have a pretty good document on there but it's hard to find.
I posted a link to it on here somewhere. I think Dension has dead ended any further developement for this Jag system.

Basically the ACM will allow use of the Ipod (Ipod controls the actions) or USB memory sticks with very crude simulated CD changer controls or an AUX input with control on the aux device (Mp3 player with RCA/line output). It works but the implementation isn't going to impress you. It's also all there is for this car.

Search, search, search on here and on the UK based Jag forum website too.

That's not strictly true. You have to have an Mp3 player with line out capability(they do exist) and then you can use the aux in function of the ACM. BTW, some of these players will support higher quality audio than Mp3 so then you can get true CD quality audio which Ipod & Mp3 are not.

I haven't been able to try the USB with higher quality audio yet but I think Dension limits that intrerface.

Perhaps I should have mentioned I actually posted a walk thru on my install on the UK forum, the S-type can't be much different. Dunno if it's allowed but here's a link - http://www.jaguarforum.co.uk/viewtop...?f=22&t=36671&

I'm sure the mods can delete the link if it's not allowed, and a Sorry in advance!
