2001 s-type 4.0 no heat, yes ive read all other posts
Hi guys, you have heard it a thousand times already.
2001 stype 4.0 No heat. alittle warm, push on gas warms up.
Switched out AUX controll pump.
My problem is:
Im not sure if my AUX controll pump is getting power. Yes i have used a test light and no it has not lit up. Does that pump run none stop or does it need to reach a certain temp?
I checked the DCCV hoses and they are cold at normal operating temp, if i unplug the DCCV plugin will it stay in open postion or closed? I do hear it ingage when key is turned to aux.
Is this possable a eletrical problem?

Pump should be running with CC on....you can listen to it with a stethescope. You will need to verify correct B+ and ground to heater valve. I have seen many a corroded wire cause issues. I have also seen CC module failures recently, failure mode being not sending proper signal to valve.
UPDATE:
Put the system back together, drained all air pockets out (i think) hot water came out of drain plug. I unpluged the DCCV. It seemed i had perfect heat for about ten mins or so then it started cooling off. I took it for a drive and it seemed to go ice cold like the AC was on. Brought it back home and beat the hell outta the DCCV and got heat alittle bit. My conculsion is to replace the DCCV and if that doesnt work i see an insurance claim coming. Or if anyone has any other ideas im all ears. I have just been useing water as im finding going through all this antifreeze is messy and expensive. One other thing i noticed was green and red antifreeze was in there together. I will get a coolant flush but i still think i need to replace the DCCV.

Flush your system completely and refill using the red/orange coolant that meets the required specifications. Prestone's DexCool does. Mixing the various coolant colors will lead to gelling, which will in turn damage your HVAC system big-time....

YOU NEED A HEATER CONTROL VALVE,(DCCV) THEY COMMONLY STICK CLOSED, AND SOMETIMES LIKE JAGTECH1 SAID THEY SHORT OUT THE CLIMATE CONTROL CIRCUIT BOARD. IS YOU OPEN THE CLIMATE MODULE YOU CAN SEE THE BURNED CIRCUITS AND HAVE THE BOARD REPAIRED INSTEAD OF SPENDING A $1000 FOR A NEW 1. aND WHEN YOU HAVE THE VALVE HOSES OFF, BLOW OUT THE HEATER LINES INTO AND OUT OF THE FIREWALL
