Default 2003 S-Type 4.2 V8 Tie Rod Replacement

So I am in need of replacing an inner tie to rod on my 03 S-Type, and am wondering about a rough estimate, and if it would be worth it just to fix it my self. Also if any of you have a clue as to how much work it would be to fix it myself, I'll take all the advice I can get.

If you do it.... make a careful measurent of the old tie rod length or count the threads showing and you won't have to get an immediate alignment. If you measure.... do it from where the tie rod threads in.... to the outer edge of the pivot end either before or after you pop it off the taper

I did my own rear tie rods. Its easy but you'll need to check alignment afterwards.

I measured mine very carefully and set the new ones to the same values - the alignment when checked was spot on

This way even if a little out you'll not wear the tyres much until the alignment is checked/adjusted.

Exactly..I use a digital dial caliper to measure thread length. A lot easier than counting threads with iffy eyes
