well yesterday I went to have a look at my air flow meter and noticed the pvc hose was completly disconnected from the intake pipe I think it might have been loose and my arm may have brushed against it completly disconnecting it as before the restricted performance message was intermittent but then the message was there all the time I reconnected it and cleared the codes the message has not come back and no mil light only time will tell as my mileage is pretty low as I have a company vehicle

Good job I think you found the problem.

Sometimes it is just a small thing and in your case nothing was actually wrong with the car. Just needed a hose reconnected.

After a few decent runs see what the trims are in case you've another problem.

After a fuelling-related repair you can force a relearn by a hard reset.
