Default anyone know how to value 03 STR with

2003 STR 118,000 miles-Salvaged title
It has every option-
Black on black
19" rim
body is straight-Im having it wet sanded and sprayed with a couple coats of clear this weekend
Just when I have repaired almost all the usual issues-I may have to sell it.
I need some cash for a business Im starting on the first of the year.
I may be open to trading the STR and sell my chevy project for the cash.
I look forward to hearing the dreaded salvage title value.
thanks for looking

Why does it have a salvage title?

Mikey,
the previous owner was hit. Another vehicle hit the drivers rear door and fender well.

Joycesjag,
how did you come up that figure as an offer?

higher mileage salvage title... $5-7k should be your starting/negotiating price...

Ya prices of good ones are at 10k or less now, so that hurts everyone's value. That is why I plan on keeping mine for a long time and just making it go faster.

In general I have found that salvage titled vehicles are about 40% off blue book value. I took a guess that a 118,000 mile, 2003 STR is worth about $6,000.00 (I was off a little bit) in good shape and no salvage title.

I mean no offense with this, it takes a special someone to own a vehicle such as yours. Again no offense meant.

I would agree with Joycesjag; I think realistically you're looking at anywhere from $3500 to $5k and it would have to be extremely clean with little signs of wear to warrant the $5k. You can get a clean title STR with about 70-80k miles for around $8k. You might get lucky though and if someone falls in love with it, but usually people buying the STR know what they are looking for and know the car pretty well.

They're easy to buy cheap, so not easy to sell except very cheap. I bought mine to keep.

I can buy a clean one with under 100k at the dealer's auction for about $5200. They're not known to be good cars, too many repairs.

I'd say that the offer you received is right on target.
