Default Check Engine Light

I have a P1111 code and P1646--Fuel Air metering and check engine light on.Can anybody explain what these codes are and are they related to the same issue and what part is bad. I would assume maybe masss air meter or something related to Fuel Air ratio mixture.

P1111- Intake Air Temperature (AIA) intermittent high voltage low temperature condition
- loose connection
-open circuit
-faulty AIA

P1646- RH O2 sensor
-short to ground
-short to power
-open circuit
-high resistance
-faulty O2 sensor

O2 sensor located on drivers side (US) the one before the CC

maybe sensors are bad

Wrong! (sorry to be blunt) P1111 being a P1 code is manufacturer-specific so you need to look it up with care. For jag & Ford it means that the monitors have completed OK and thus is normal. The alternative would be P1000 which means they have not completed - and then you need to find out why (maybe you recently cleared codes or disconnected battery).

P1646 really is an error, however.

First thing: do NOT make assumptions.
Second: codes are best viewed as hints. Only sometimes are they a direct diagnosis.

The meaning of a P1 can depend on the exact year etc of your car, though that tends not to happen much. I am using the 2003MY tables.

Please note that RH is defined to mean: as viewed looking from rear towards front of car.

In this case, it is indeed bank 1 i.e. the RH bank. The upstream (pre-cat) sensor. Or its wiring, or... Remember - view the code as a hint!!

Having to type this at speed so hope I've got it all right

No problem! Alldata could even be right for an 05 as jag changed to a newer version of the Denso PCM and for all I know it changed the meaning of P1111. I kinda doubt it, tho. Probably "just" bad stuff in alldata
