Engineering Test Mode
If you want a ton of information, try this. Put the key in the ignition,
and, while turning the key to the II position, press and hold the
button on the left stalk...the one you usually use to advance thru
miles, average speed, etc. The message, ENGINEERING TEST MODE
will appear in the message section of the tach. Now, use the
k/mp button on the left side of the dash to move thru the information.
Initially, each and every light in the cluster will illuminate...a good way
to test all the bulbs. Next, is the gauge test. Keep going and you'll
find actual battery voltage, fuel trims, digital engine temps, etc, etc.
You can use this test mode with the engine running, or, just with the
ignition on, and, you can use it while the car is in motion. You can't
do any harm nor effect any changes, and, when you remove the key,
the cluster returns to normal mode. Enjoy.

It's geared towards men obviously. It has blinking lights, whirring gauges and lots of data intuitive to Klingons.
You can use it as backup in case your speedo or tach goes belly-up I would think.

ETM is great, but hard to understand some paramiters. I for one am very interested in IAT's, MAF voltage, TPS voltage, and Timeing curves. I can't seam to find ANY of that info in a understandable format. Please HELP. lol Can some one Barney Style what I'm looking for, and how to read it?
P.S. I can only scroll one way using the info botton on the left stalk, and I don't have to remove the Key to go back to normal operation, I just push and hold the info botton for a few seconds.

Hi,
RPMs and speedo fluctuating, idle rpm 780rpm on torque app matching cold start rpm on the dash, once reved , stays on 950rpm, but torque says 780 +/- 5.
I eliminated nearly everything, so now I'd like to see if ETM matches torque app, if so, I would blame faulty clocks.
Can't figure out how to start car with this ETM on, it disappears straight after I start the car
