P1637 indicates an earth or ground fault related to the abs module.

Check earths/grounds behind front headlights.

Be very careful they can break off very easily if corroded.

Hi Sifiso,

Welcome to the Jaguar Forums! It's great to have you with us.

You can download the Diagnostic Trouble Code Summaries manual at the link below, which gives you definitions and possible causes of each DTC:

Jaguar Powertrain DTC Summaries All Gasoline Models 2004

As you will see in the manual, a possible cause of P1637 is a problem with the Controller Area Network (CAN) circuitry between the Dynamic Stability Control Module (DSCM) and the Engine Control Module (ECM). This can be caused by looseness of or corrosion on electrical connector terminals, pinched or chafed wiring, etc. You can see these circuits and connector locations in the Electrical Guide, which you can download here:

Jaguar S-Type Electrical Guide 2005

Also, please visit the New Member Area - Intro a MUST and post a required introduction so we can learn something about you and your Jaguar and give you a proper welcome.

Cheers,

Don

Welcome to the forum Sifiso Michion Radebe,

I've copied your question from another similar thread in X350 forum to S-Type forum. This is the pace to post technical questions about your model.

Please follow this link New Member Area - Intro a MUST - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the New Member Area - Intro a MUST forum and post some information about yourself and your vehicle for all members to see. In return you'll get a proper welcome and some useful advice about posting to the forum.

Welcome to the forum Sifiso,

I've copied your question to S-Type forum for advice from members with the same model as yours. Here's the link to it:

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...7/#post1890637

Please use that thread and NOT this one here in X350 forum.

Graham
