i would like to know if anyone has ever replaced the heater valve on a 2000-2001 jaguar s type.
i am going to try to replace mine myself and would like to know if someone can guide me through it.

The 3.0 is easier because there is more room for your hands/arms. I usually leave the hoses on the valve, disconnect them from the other ends and drag the valve and hoses as a 'clump'. I swap the hoses to the new valve and reinstall, fill system and bleed the air.

If I had to do one I would try Bob's way of doing it. I am attaching a link to my page that has a little information that might help. At one time I thought I needed to replace mine but all was OK!

If you look you will see a few quick disconnects on the hose ends. Now I did not do this but I was looking at that same process, if you go with removing the hose on the valve you will need to get the clamps off first. To do that you will need a tool this http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_1...&blockType=G12 You can see the same disconnects in the illustrations on my page.

How did you manage the heater valve removal job, I think I may have the same job to do on my 2000 S Type, any tips or pointers would be most welcome?
