Default headlamp repair

I had all of the adjusters broken in both of my headlamps. I baked them for 10 minutes at 175 and they came apart easily. I got rid of all of the sealant holding the lens to the rear of headlamp. What is best adhesive to use to reassemble the headlamp?

You should be able to spread some of the original sealant towards the rear part of the headlamp. It's also evident in the crevices. Bake them again @ 175 degrees for 5 - 7 minutes and push them back together tightly. As they cool off they will seal. No need for any adhesive. (Thanks Brutal!)

I guess I should not have spent an hour getting all of the old sealant out. By the way. The replacement adjusters are much better construction than the originals. I can see why they all break. Jaguar should be ashamed for this part.

It's not a part made by Jaguar. I understand it's Hella. They make them for lots of cars...

Default Replacement Adjusters

I didnt know you could get replacement adjusters?? I used the old screw through the front plastic between the lights and that did the trick raising mine back up. I would be interested in repairing mine if I could find the adjusters!!

Where in the world did you locate the replacements!!???

The adjusters could be found on Ebay - these are made privately. I've installed them. MUCH BETTER quality!!! Link is below. Well worth the $105.00

Default Adjuster come from Poland

Quality is way better than Hella. They have metal inside with a plastic overlay. Fit perfectly. There are 3 adjusters per side. The screw will not work when all of them are broken. The oven is very easy to use and the adjusters are easily changed. I have mine apart. PM me if you need pics of dissasembled headlight

I don't need to do this fix, but I'm curious about removing the headlights. I know the process, removing the front bumper, etc. But yo, that seems like such a HUGE process. Seems like a lot of you have done it. What's your take on the process? How hard is it really?

Default Front Bumper removal

Not near as difficult as it sounds. I have never done before. Took an hour

Helps to have a drill with a socket attachment to get bolts out quicker.

hey Mike, could you send me a link to the headlight pictures please? A short description of how to remove them would also be really useful.
Thanks, Glyn
