Ignition switch with lock function or not
Hi,
I am the happy owner of a 2006 model S type R which it may seem needs a new ignition switch because the car will not go into sleep mode and hence battery is drained in less than 24 hours. The question is; Should I get the switch with a lock function ( part no C2C25597 ) or part no C2C25596 (without the lock function). Please advice

Hi,
well, I cant be certain at this point but I have a Jaguar garage that claims that the problem is in the air-condition electronics module and that is a costly part to replace (if they can get hold of a part at all) so I read on this web that often the switch in the ignition can be the root cause of the high current consumption. But I am open to other suggestions.. Thanks!

They don't sound very likely to be right but why not follow the many posts about diagnosing such a problem...
Part-swapping in hope tends to get expensive, frustrating and time-consuming.
