Inspection
Today i did an inspection of my just buyed s type
My nabour has a bridge in his garage
Put the s type mk 1 on it today
And it is quite good for a car of 1450 euro
Ofcourse it has work as it is a car of almost 25 year old
Body works 2 small dents and some scratch nothing big
Bottem no rust quite clean
Engine and gearbox dry
Needs oil and filter change ed( eg maintenance)
Stabilsation sticks( don't know English name) need 4 x new
Need 2x front tyre uneven wear reason:
Left under ball joint verry bad ( can hear during driving) + check wheel flight
Brakes front for now ok disks have wear but pads ok
Brakes rear for now ok disk some rough but pads
Gonna do front and rear breaks new disks and pads
Multi belt old needs replacement inc rollers
When i do that i do also water pump renew
New filters and sparkplugs ( maintenance because not know when done)
So better than expected i think
One of 2x buyings price had also would have some maintenance
Happy with it

Shock absorbers? They are available separately, or as part of a complete strut assembly with springs. My experience with the front shocks (and upper control arm) here:

More details on the lower ball joints here:

Be aware Jaguar only sells the ball joints as part of the complete lower control arm assembly. With aftermarket (be sure to get a quality brand), the ball joints are available separately.
On the early V6, there were some changes with the water pump. Many vendors only show one part number. More details here, so you can have the correct style before starting:

Stabilsation sticks - probably the drop links - and most have a very short life. Try the Meyle HD replacements. They are good.
