Sean - I've moved your post from the Forum Feedback & Suggestions section (which is for issues related to the forum itself) to the S-Type section specific for your model.

If plastic coolant bottle cap is clogged, system pressure can be too high.Normal pressure is about 16 PSI, aftermarket hoses hold it fine.

I agree, pressure cap is way up there on my list.

Never had issues with aftermarket hoses ever.

Jag dont make them anyhow, it is a Brand name manufacturer (Gates etc) that does that for ALL car makes out there.

Here's the upper hose (URO brand) I recently installed in my '02 V6. Works great, no problems. The plastic Y-fitting in the middle looked like it came from the same mold as the existing (OEM?) piece:

Same as my 2 that I fitted.

The people that make any component sell them primamrily to the OE Customer, and then the excess, and there is always excess, goe to the aftermarket labels.

Been that way the 52 years I beed in Spare Parts.

When the OE parts dry up, usually 5 years after production ceases, unkess that part carries over to the next model, the aftermarket takes over, simple, and it works well down here.

I paid $2 for Mercedes radiator hose ($60 in local stores)
$40 for Jag like new radiator.
They are expensive cars to maintain!

That is why you should always buy parts from a Jag dealer.

Hoses are a wear item. Do not buy them used. Get new only whether factory or aftermarket. Some stuff is factory only.

Agreed. I always buy new. Sometimes I luck out and find new stock OEM parts on eBay at a steal...
