Default My 2003 S-Type won't start

When I start the engine, it turns over just fine but then stops. I wait a few seconds and try it again but the same thing keeps happening. It has more than a half tank of gas and the battery is good.

Any idea why it fails?

As you start & it turns over keep watching the PATS light - does it go out and stay out? If not, leave key in pos II and watch that light, counting flashes.

Default 08 CAN BUS location? S-type

CAN BUS is what I want to check as my symptoms perfectly matched what I read for the u0167 code. But I can't find anything on where it is or what it looks like. Anyone?

Your resurrection of this ancient and unresolved thread makes the third on your no-start issue going back to mid January. As I recall the PATS issue was mentioned in at least one of your earlier threads as well... Did you check the PATS light for a flashing trouble code?

Pat's light doesn't show any codes but it won't kick over so idk if it is supposed to.

Default Update

Ok tried reset procedure nothing happened. Took off manifold and fuel rail and no fuel at all.fuel comes out of filter when hose disconnected. Could the new crankshaft sensor bad a bad apple? Getting spark no fuel at fuel rail but when fuel pump is primed and filter hose disconnected it spits fuel. Should I revisit the purge valve?

You should have fuel in the rail.

Also, the OBD reading should look like you have.

If the OBD says you do but you haven't then the sensor may be bad.

Default Cheap sensor

Ok also it's the cheapest aftermarket one I could find. I right in thinking it needs to be an expensive sensor?

code reader with live data should show RPM if crank sensor is OK. If sensor is dead, no RPM when you try to start.
