My husband and I replaced the motor on the passenger side after it had failed intermittently. When we first put it in, I used the switch on the driver's side to test it and it worked fine.
Unfortunately, after I did the 'reset' with the key in the door, etc, it stopped working all together.
Since I put a used motor in it, I do not know how to determine if that motor went out coincidentally OR if there is some other problem. It was working intermittently before, so now I am wondering if it's an electrical issue or the switch in the door.
I have already checked the fuses and those are good.
Can anyone tell me a good way to check the motor or test the switch?
I took the driver's side switch apart and it 'appeared' fine. (don't know what I'm doing) Just glad I could get that stupid thing back together again!
And just for some background-- we have successfully replaced three regulators, two of which were on this same car. (rear and driver's side)

Almost sounds like you may have a pinched wire. Open passenger door find the wire loom from door to body. Try wiggling while the hubster plays with the button unless you like pushing buttons . Hopefully you will the window will operate. There have been several instances where there is a broken/pinched wire.

Already replaced a radiator, CCM (sent for the $50 ebay repair) , Heater valve, and brakes.

 

What is your reset procedure with the key in the door? I do not understand.

 

I would disconnect the battery and then reconnect (hard reset) to clear all messages on the SCP network.

This may or may not help but it won't hurt.

Thanks for the recommendation on jiggling the wires. We got it to work for a split second and it stopped again. My husband disconnected the wiring harness and found that one of the prongs had rusted somehow and, of course, just crumbled when we pulled it apart.
So, now we have found the problem, we are considering just directly wiring them. (can anyone think of any downside to this? )
I don't want the car to catch on fire or something!
My husband was suggesting just jumping the one wire and leaving the rest intact. We would have to replace both ends at this point because there is part of the prong stuck inside the one end, and the other one is completely broken off. I hope no one is cringing!

Oh- the reset- we did this to calibrate the windows in the past. Turn the key in the door to lock until windows go up, then in the 'unlock' position and hold until the windows go down. It seems to have worked. (read it on another site)

We removed the one wire from each of the plugs and wired just those together and used a wire nut and electrical tape.
It is working beautifully!
