Default Re-calibrate the steering angle sensor

Hello, Can someone with access to the JTIS help me with the procedure to re-calibrate the steering angle sensor please? I put a replacement clock spring on recently and the error msg came up.

I hear that it is covered in that but i can't access it through my pc for some reason.... i will deal with that later.

There is a very detailed DIY in the How To thread here at the top of the S Type subdirectory. The procedure might be described there.

Sorry I don't have JTIS either.

I think once it's been done wrongly (as it appears) you'll need IDS/SDD to recalibrate the computer.

I don't see anything about calibration in JTIS this is the removal / replacement procedure.

Steering Wheel Rotation SensorRemove the steering wheel.
Remove the instrument panel lower trim panel.
Detach the steering column lower shroud.
Remove the steering column lower shroud.
Disconnect the electrical connector.
Disconnect the steering wheel rotation sensor electrical connector.
Detach the steering wheel rotation sensor electrical wiring harness from the steering column.
Remove the steering wheel rotation sensor.
Note the correct routing of the steering wheel rotation sensor electrical wiring harness.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.

OK Thanks very much Guys. I hear what you are saying Jagv8 re IDS/SDD to re calibrate. I have that system but its sadly not much use this week as my windowsXP is non functioning (pc needs rebuild and the car is non drivable) so will have to rely on the i car-soft LR 2 unit which came in today. It says on the tin that it can do the re calibration but before i went anywhere near it wanted to get views of members whom may have done this. I will also need to put the front suspension leg back on after i changed a broken spring as the wheel sensor is disconnected.

Ok so the latest is this: I took the clock spring off and it has an instruction noted on the face that says to wind it back fully CCW then take it two turns CW...what?. I followed it... put it back on and hey presto no warning lights. So today went back for the re-test at the MOT garage and got the all important bit of paper. I've done about 60 miles since and all seems fine. Next job is the knock sensor Left Bank (P0333) still throwing a fault. Ill start a thread for that as i didn't see much so far for a 2.5 V6. I have already got a replacement to go and deal with an advisory notice...rear N/S tie link.
Thank you for everyone's input.
