Sounds on the high side to me. I would have expected maybe 11k.

I think it's too high, NADA is $10,050-$13,025 w/Navigation and Alpine Stereo System.

No nav. and no Upgrade Alpine though I I think standard is Alpine as well. I currently have a 2006 Lincoln LS but want to upgrade.

I'd try and talk them down, it seems steep to me.

Too high - pricing should be around $10.5K - I would negotiate that price down...

It all comes down to condition. These are expensive vehicles to repair. The initial price is nothing compared to the thousands to repair things.

If the price includes a warranty honorable at your local Jaguar dealership, the price might not be too bad. I would definitely try to get a warranty and the previous service records.
You should really look around and think about getting one from a private owner.

Thousands...Where exactly did you pull this number from?

Like all S-Types, unless you know it's been fixed, buy a new $125 coolant overflow tank, new $90 DCCV, $40 lug nuts & lug wrench, get the updated alignment and back off the shifter bolts, apply locktite and tighten...This will prevent a ton of headaches down the road...

OP, way too much even if the thing hasn't been in an accident which you failed to specify, that price is STR (S type R, supercharged with tons of goodies) territory...

If you must have the warranty, determine if belts and coolant hoses are covered...They're more likely to go than the actual engine blowi9ng up...

I'd offer $10K, with the expectation of walking out empty handed but receiving a phone call a week later...

Here's a good site to explain some of these issues:

Most a/c, DCCV etc are cheap to fix and DIY.

Great site and info after things go wrong...My suggestion is fix the common fail parts before they break...
