As it is time to rebuild my failing front end I placed an order for new vertical links, 2003 Model Year STR, Gaudin Jag Parts has just informed me that the vertical link's for the supercharged model are no longer available:

"The following items have been discontinued and are NO LONGER available from Jaguar. I have checked the dealer network as well, but was unable to locate. P/N: C2C21656 ~ Front suspension, knuckle, Right P/N: C2C21658 ~ Front suspension, knuckle, Left."

You can imagine my joy that Jaguar has eliminated a common wear item, anyone have a current source for these specific arm's ?? Is the standard S Type not compatible with Brembo brakes ?

This is not good news. The Brembo-equipped X350 uses the same parts.

I did come across lower ball joints listed on ebay, might be the only way to go now.

 

If they're used on later cars then laws here require them to be available and in that case maybe the dealer hasn't managed to check properly.

 

Found them at Welsh Enterprises, i asked about them apparently Jag dealers have been purchasing from them also as they have pretty much no stock elsewhere. $265 for the left unit and $275 for the right. Hope this helps some of you out, as this particular unit is used on the 03-04 S type R models years only and a few other models here and there I would think about getting them while you can. Just my .02

 

Per Rimmer Bros, UK, the part is on basically a perpetual backorder and unlikely to be produced again. Had the same issue when trying to replace the mesh grille due to an accident a year ago.

 

Not sure if you are still looking for the lower ball joints but I have a set for sale listed in the Private classifieds. Sold me Jag so I longer need these.
