Question Service

Hello. I am new to the Jag world. I just bought my S-Type 3.0 with 88,000 miles. I was reading the service book and noticed that the oil needs to be changed only every 10,000 miles? Does anyone do this more often? I plan on waiting to the 100,000 mark to do plugs.

Any other recommendations for service? I noticed no trans fluid change mark either?

Thanks in advance!!!!!

Plugs are 70000, surely. Have they not been done?

Do oil when you like but maybe 7000.

Read the FAQs for what else to do

Congrats. on adopting your cat. Changing oil at 7k may work fine, but what if your cat is "using oil"? Check her every 3k. I swap in Mobile (synthetic 5W-30) every 4k. Change the plugs and trans. fluid now. 88k is "getting up there". Use the forum search feature for changing fluid topics.

The oil change question was recently asked. Read here and decide for yourself.

Great thanks for the info!! I am not sure if the plugs have been changed or not. I am fine with 5,000 miles with synthetic oil, but 10,000 just sounded a little long.

I think at 90,000 I will change the oil, filter, air filter, trans fluid, spark plugs/wires. Anything else I am missing?

5K on either dino or synthetic oil is unnecessary given the factory recommendation of 10K. Note that the quoted post contained NO substantiation or even circumstantial evidence that anything less than the 10K is required.

Cabin/Pollen Air Filter: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...ics-faq-27547/

Fuel Filter: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...r-video-40686/

Check IMT ORings: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...ck-pics-49214/

Oh and be VERY CAREFUL when changing out the air filter!! Make sure you get the correct filter and install the airbox cover correctly!!

Thats all I can think of if the vehicle is throwning no codes!
