Red face Strange things I do to my Kitty

I have a strange tendency to remove my airbox assembly, clean my throttle body (clean it, hand sand it), remove all 8 coils inspect plug wells, and after inspecting coils then proceed to clean them with crc connector cleaner and reinstall.

Anyone else have any strange weird tendencies ? just curious, possibly looking to pick up a new habit lol

Not more than (say) once a year? If yes, how often?

I will remove and take a look down the spark plug wells approximately 6 times a year, cleaning throttle body depends on how it looks, and cleaning coils maybe 2-3 times of those 6 (approx) depending on time and mood.

i find it somewhat therapeutic

I'd be a little concerned in case constant flexing etc (of trunking, coil wiring, connectors, ...) causes problems. I'm sure they're designed to cope with vibration but not what you're doing.

Im fairly cautious, and having done it so many times, ive learned to be very gentle and move the wires and connectors without much stress or strain

My strange and obsessive habit is keeping the hood closed as much as possible.

Seems a bit compulsive... one of the Golden Rules of wrenching: if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Get a STR instead. The driving experience will keep you too busy to do all that fun stuff!

Good afternoon everyone, I would have to agree and say yes, there is some compulsiveness in there, I found a little bit of oil in my spark plug wells a long time ago, i cleaned them up and torqued everything snug and havent had any oil since and i believe im just waiting for it to happen again so i can change the gaskets n such,

Mikey its no fun keeping the hood closed, Im just fascinated by my baby ! I thoroughly enjoy putting my hands on her.

Tbird, I can honestly say I drive my n/a VERY VERY HARD, quite possibly to the point that majority of our fellow members would be at a loss of words and boy do I enjoy it,
I have no doubt that an STR would provide a great driving experience, maybe down the road ill look into getting another jag, this time with a super charger

Knocking on wood, im amazed how much punishment ive given it and its ability to take it, shes one of the good ones !

I cant express the feeling, it damn near gives me a hard on when I hit the kick down and having removed the exhaust the roar is just enough to drown out my shouts of excitement

For some real excitement, check out a local road course and a drag strip.

My exhaust is simple just straight through from the resonators no mufflers, it is fairly loud....

Hello Quartz, I've thought about it in the past, I may take it out to the track the next time my buddies are going would definitely be interesting.

I was out for a 40 mile drive or so and on a fairly level freeway with cruise set to 68-69 i was according to the odometer averaging around 30+mpg with long sets of 36mpg =)

its very satisfying having the best of both worlds
