so i have been hearing a slight rattle coming from under the car at low RPM's (thinking is might be a loose heat shield) so I jack her up to take a look. and I get down toward the transmission and now im getting close to the noise. and I look up to what I believe is the torque converter and I see this gear spinning around. I was like "WHAT".... this cant be good. so I turn the car off and get back under to take a closer look. looks like a cover plate is missing. the edges around the hole are smooth and look as if it was meant to be there but the cover may have fallen off and now is open to the elements.

so my question is to this Forum is. What the %*#@ is going on with my transmission/torgue converter? my trans is running and shifting fine. so what is going on and how do I fix this. also, isn't his supposed to have tans fluid in it. and if I can cover the hole, how do I get the right fluid into this. this one has got me scratching my head and with no answers.

thanks
Jeff
Guys, in Jeff's picture (Post #1) there's a round rubber piece or "grommet" on the bottom of the transmission bell housing. Does anyone know the part number?

I ordered the inspection cover and installed it today when I noticed this piece missing. I'm almost tempted to go to the transmission shop that installed my trans 2 years ago and go nuclear on them for leaving these out...

Any help would be appreciated...
